Brooke Newman, Head of School, is in her 19th year at St. Alban's Episcopal Day School. She has served as the Curriculum Specialist, a second grade teacher, a kindergarten teacher, and the Enrichment Coordinator. Prior to coming here, Brooke taught third grade for five years. She has a Bachelor of Elementary Education from Abilene Christian University and an Elementary Teaching Certificate (PK-6th). Brooke is married to Ryan Newman and has two children, Nate (22) and Adeline (20), both are graduates of St. Alban’s Day School. Adeline attends Texas A&M University in College Station. Nate is a recent graduate of Texas A&M. Brooke and Ryan are also active members of St. Alban's Episcopal Church.

Father John Inserra is in his eighth year as Rector (Senior Pastor) of St. Alban’s. He is a graduate of Nashotah House Episcopal Seminary with a Master of Divinity and was ordained a priest in 2010. Prior to St. Alban’s, Fr. John served churches in New Orleans, LA and Sheridan, WY. Fr. John has been married to his wife, Sarah, for 19 years and they have one daughter, Rosie, who is a 6th grader at St. Alban’s. Fr. John is passionate about faith, family, food, and football. He is acquainted well with suffering and heartbreak, being a life-long Buffalo Bills fan.

Alicia Forshage, Assistant Head of School, is in her 12th year at St. Alban’s. She has served as a third grade teacher, fourth grade teacher, physical education teacher and the marketing coordinator. Alicia has a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (EC-12) degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, as well as an EC-6 Generalist teaching certification. She is a St. Alban’s alum, and has been in the St. Alban's community since 1992. She is married to Glynn Forshage and together they have two children: Landon (10) and Audrey (7) who both attend St. Alban's.

She brings years of experience in pediatric rehab, home health, PICU, and PACU settings — and a true passion for caring for children. Alaina has three children, Delaney, Dakota, and Dallas - and is married to St. Alban’s alum Rico Rodriguez. She’s committed to creating a safe, caring, and healthy environment for all students and is thrilled to be part of the community. When she’s not at school, Alaina enjoys family time and beach trips. She can’t wait to get started and is honored to care for the amazing students at St. Alban’s!

She is married to Gil Staton and their daughter, Lyla, is a St. Alban’s alumna and is in 10th grade at HCISD while their son, Lane, is in Kindergarten at St. A.

Linda Lunsford, fifth and sixth grade teacher, is in her tenth year at St. Alban’s and her 43rd year in education. Linda has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Iowa. She comes to St. Alban’s from Coakley Middle School, where she taught reading/language arts and drama at all levels for 33 years. Linda is married to Steve and has one grown daughter, Ali.

Tammy Cleckler, first-sixth grade science teacher, is in her 17th year at St. Alban’s and is entering her 34th year in education. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a specialization in English/Language Arts from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and a Texas Teacher’s Certificate, grades 1-8. Tammy and her husband, Jeff, have one adult son, Thomas. They also have one spoiled dog named Penny and a few chickens. Tammy loves music, reading, dogs, scrapbooking, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Melanie Olivo is a proud Harlingen native with over 12 years of experience in Elementary Music
Education—11 of those years at Lee Means Fine Arts Academy. Her primary instrument is the bassoon, and she also has experience teaching piano and voice. In addition to her work in the classroom, Mrs. Olivo has served as Music Director and Producer for numerous student productions, including The Little Mermaid Jr., Frozen Jr., Mulan Jr., and The Lion King Jr., among others. She brings passion, creativity, and dedication to every project she undertakes. Mrs. Olivo is deeply committed to nurturing a love of
music in her students. She is married to her husband, Ryan Olivo, and together they have two children, Ian Jai and Elyza Ryme. Beyond her role as an educator, Mrs. Olivo is deeply committed to her faith and is excited to serve as our new Music Minister. She aims to contribute to the St. Albans community by providing music that glorifies God.

Stephanie Valdez, Religion Teacher and St. Alban’s Episcopal Church’s Children’s Minister, is in her 13th year with us and her 16th year in Education. She has taught PreK-4’s, Kindergarten, and 2nd Grade. This is her 2nd year teaching religion alongside St. Alban’s Episcopal Church's Youth Minister, Bennett Holder. Prior to her time here, she taught 4th grade in SCUC ISD. Stephanie has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with Certification in EC-6th Generalist from Texas State University in San Marcos. She has lived in the Valley with her husband, Michael, for the past 14 years. They have two children, Sean, a St. Alban’s Day School graduate, and Scarlett, a 3rd grader here at St. Alban’s.

Roberta Lee was a Navy nurse; however, upon returning to college she found her passion in art. She has a BFA and Masters in Art and has taught at the university level and previously taught at St Alban's. She has owned and operated her art studio for almost 40 years. She is happy to begin her 4th year at St Alban's.
